Absolutely. Napalm cotton candy and sherbert grenades for everybody. Choco nukes: we can have a global disarmament eat in. First country to completely swallow its nuclear arsenal gets a free box of warm fuzzies personally delivered to the doorstep of every citizen by retired army generals in pink uniforms and moose loafers.

But one must understand that there are those who rejoice in destruction; who live only to maim, injure and kill. And when we defend ourselves against these, we become like them, yet if we do not, we become prey. It is a paradox and a conundrum that cannot be breached by reason because the unreasoning warlike mind is not influenced by guilt or mercy. It rejoices only in destruction. So if reason has no path, it can not enter and if mercy has no place, it cannot be found. If there is no guilt or understanding of the concept there can be no change. That is why we lock up psychopaths. But just as many are running free, controlling governments and religions; armies and institutions. Just my thoughts.

Sheema, we must not forget those, who are victims of domestic violence, either. Too many women and children have paid the ultimate price for society's hubris. Myself, I am, a survivor of such violence, at the hands of my own brother.
I wish there was a way, which all forms of violence, never happen and the victims, celebrated as the true heroes that they are.

I wish we could change our world to your description. Where Soldiers are not needed. Gun are locked away. I enjoyed your hope and description in the poem. We must never give up the goal of peace. Thank you for sharing the powerful and hopeful poem. I like the closing line.

Unfortunately it is a human phenomenon and fact, to always disturb the balance it is in our intelligence, our genes. It has been shown throughout history.
There has been almost no quiet time, then the sixties, where they protested against this type of violence, and life through the centuries, ebb and flow in how one develops and behaves.
Put for a moment, a lot of rats in a cage which is too small, and see what happens psychologically ... it is a primal instinct. This is an intelligent piece of poetry, I'm curious for more, because you are Sheema the eye opener for many ... well thought out, perfectly written sweetheart!

If only peace were this easy to achieve, but people will always be anarchists against a totalitarian leader, abiding to their religious codes, and/or straggling over resources.

Liked the wisdom in your words, beautifully written. Peace can only be achieved by constructive way of thinking, and looking at whole humanity as your own part, unfortunately the ones in control are totally bankrupt regarding this.
' the definitive path of absolute reason. ' what a wonderful philosophy stated in what is plausibility. But, if only. Those in power have no idea what they're doing to the man, woman and child 'on the street' who only want to walk life carrying balloons, chatting happily to a peaceful world population. Trouble is, Sheema, we MUST all WANT to feel the same and that means in every corner of our planet.
Your words should be read in every corner; perhaps then, one day, Heart will come to the fore I long for it, pray for it. Don't most of us.
