The way life is we all go through trials and tribulations... and sometimes those very wisp sent our way are a test, to get us to another level on life, cause perhaps we will need to strengthen in some areas that are necessary for us to better ourselves... the important fact to always take to mind and heart is that life is filled with surprises, and unorthodox unpredictability .... however just as theres seasons in weather there are seasons in our lives.. and sometimes we shut down due to a particular event occurring in our lives... but as long as theres that faith.. inside the heart and glint of light when happiness is yet a whisper away... u summed it up perfectly
"eyes become awakened
when the mind soothes
the unseeing heart
with reassurances to trust"
another incredible write... much kudos to you

Thank you, your comments are deeply appreciated :)

Your language is more than extraordinary, you thread words so fluently and seemingly easily yet hold emotions warm and true to your heart. And no, life isn't a 'walk in the park' - if only; tho nature has a magic way with it. Your reflections appear more than sincere, perhaps true .. sadness can be so beautiful.

love the narrative aspect and the internal rhyming. "itinerant idleness", "unwrought residue of vehement pontificating..." love the "voice" here. And ending with the universal issue...trust. (smile)

I'm glad for your dedicated review Michael, thank you so much
Sheema, my father "Casey" Horse's Horse's but man too, his word" Sullen", and a horses eyes spoke to him, and me watching learning, him no explanation, just had to become "Zen" to emulate his natural poetry with a horse,a rope, post hole diggers, people,I know , I know get on with the review, Heart and eyes they are the most important part of a race horse, He could look feel into and see the heart through their eyes, measure it , then train them such that ,their confidence grew, and grew, and the balance point is Trust, are you sure you don't train horses? this poem shows you sure could.

If only life were as simple
as ‘a walk in the park’
~ i wish it too, but sadly infact its not that easy...i see you conveyed your emotions really well my friend... Great work!

As ever, I am very grateful for your time and your splendid review Pax, thank you ever so much.
The rhyming pattern, i'd say, is perfect! I could hear an imaginary brook make rising and falling nuances of sound when i read this. You even have my full consent to the meaning you've conveyed here with your beautiful words. I can conceive strongly that the narrator wants to be naked of his/her bane and unwanted traits. Our hearts are harnessed by our minds, thankfully or else, our insensible desires would extinguish our dreams. Very well done! =D

awe, you're welcome! I don't like being thrifty when it comes to reviewing literary works. =)
That was REALLY good! I loved your choice of words! On the other hand, though, it did seem kind of choppy here and there. But it was an over all great poem!
