WEAVER WOMAN

WEAVER WOMAN

A Poem by SHEEMA HUQ

early morning calm

endurance and nimble

touch, orange dyed

yarn bleeds into

green, strict lines

broken between, the

geometric motifs,

not entirely immune

to slow healing blister

wounds, there was

nothing left to repossess

except her limbs,

her flesh, her organs,

her kin, threading the

weft between the

strands of the warp,

working row by row

pushing the weave

together with an iron

comb, searching a solution

that meet she might,

into the glint of the dawn

or the dead of the night

The Art finally is nothing more or nothing less than the rythm of life....and, that emerges out in shining notes through this brilliant poetic expressions....the chords lay bare the pleasures in pain...pains in pleasure....meaningfully mingling into a flow where life sacrifices for existence....toils are sacrificed for a life to toil forever...yet what comes out remains a string of artistic expressions that binds passions of creation with compulsion of being into it.....I love to mean that way and I enjoy in going through this feeling to inspire myself for whatever short life is still lying to be pursued for me....

Love the title and beautiful verse. I see her there in whispered light... where she weaves by day and night.

Will read this many more times. Thank you SHEEMA.

I like how you reach into nothingness and pull out an abstract idea and give it life, color, movement and emotion. Very few can do that and I appreciate your skill greatly.

thanks for such a dedicated review, your expertise is greatly valued, DrD
i think Autumn of a life...dawn could be a new chapter, the dead of night could be waning years, waiting for the end of life.

i like the analogy here...if you didn't mind i would really like to send this to my sister...i think she would appreciate it...as she is a weaver...

there is such depth of feeling, and such honesty in what you write...no pretentiousness at all...every bit of your poems feels so natural.

always enjoy reading you.
