JUST ESCAPED THE SHREDDER

A Collection of Short Poems

No Change

Blue ink, black ink,

neither influences how I think

Burgundy quill might create some thrill,

 or a bright green gel for a serener spell

But I’m not so keen

Obstinate - is how I’ve always been

I write invariably on white

This feels right

Even minor changes don’t appeal

So why change what I feel?

 

Stuff to Trust

Dried leaves, resins, spirits, dust

Lying is a must

Secrets hushed

Clarity crushed

Dried leaves, resins, spirits, dust

 

Master Copy

Changed each caption

Made nine adaptations

Redrafted introduction

Reduced margins by a fraction

Rewrote second half

Edited final draft

 

Guilt with Caution

If guilt can tilt either way

let’s then think about it another day

and perhaps such feelings will dwindle  away

Oh thank god these escaped the shredder! My favorite is Master Copy, because I sat here, smiling, nodding, I even said "Yup" out loud *laugh* Story of my life...if I spent as much time writing as I do editing what I've already written, I'd have a dozen novels under my belt :-D Thanks so much for sharing these gems.
