Dual Promises

                I shall promise to forgive

                  my occasional ignorant

ignorent indigenous prejudice

Providing I make allowances for

               my occasional belligerent

                    immigrrant status

And remember that I too

           Just like you (who is in fact me)

                   was once a foetus too

       Thank you (and thanks to myself too!)

 

A Living She Must Earn

A living she must earn

To grow and gain a learn

To champion a cause

To acknowledge and applaud

To challenge and protest

A cut above the rest.

A living she does earn

To work she must return

Her expressions are solemn

Her voice is stern

Her stomach churns

Consumed with such concern

A change is what she yearns

Abhorrence is certain

She Squirms…….

       Experience Wanted

                “I’d like to experience life on all levels” " she said

“Its’ plights, woes, highlights

and perils” "she pledged

 

As if her life were a fable or a craft,

how naive and rather daft.

                                    In revealing the general tedium…

of dealing with managerial self interest and corruption,

indignant policies and regulations, bogus consultations,

utterly qualmish stipulations and disastrous collaborations,

 

I guess this cancels out my hopeful notion of getting a fast-track promotion!

You're turning me into a fan of a style and format that I used to find unpalatable. But here I find your driving syntax and solid resolve irresistable!
And have I said how much your lay out amplifies your voice? Incase I haven't let me now say what a delicious treat it is to see your creativity totally eat up the page and feast.

I think, taken individually, these all really stand up straight and tall, but, by putting them together, and in the order you have (I wonder if that was deliberate?) they excel...such wise pieces that tickle their strength with a soft feather of humor...excellent work. I'm so pleased to have made your acquaintance today.

have to agreee with Kimberly. Your witty and clever meter, not forced at all, flows in smooth motion like waves. If you delivered jokes on a stage as you delivery these pieces I would die laughing and a whispered repetition of some of your lines would be my last words...smiling.

I drink from every stream so my belly has the right E coli , to stomach the world, a balance of a bricks weight I hold in my lower intestine , it helps me ,deal with the loss,promotion or life, to be one, good job poet.
