Olivia's Sonnet

Olivia's Sonnet

A Poem by Shane Patrick

The air is thin around beauty so fair,
watching you slumber in the morning air.
Blessed by one of nature's faithful gifts,
Alone no more the burden from my heart lifts.

Soft are your beddings ruffles and lace,
looking at your tiny hand in mine, I kiss your face.
Deep brown, how your beautiful eyes flow,
proud father I will become, as I watch you mature and grow.

Soothing and steady are my breaths, as you sleep,
Hold you safe from harm the promise I keep.
Whispering my pledge silent, as a falling tear,
you are all that I am, and all that I hold dear.

Fated my love and all that I do,
my existence, my world, I give it to you.
