Simply To Cry

Simply To Cry

A Poem by S.E.C.

Rain allows those tears to never fall

Nor make there presence known to wandering eyes.

I scoff at this burden of weakness

And end my torturing thoughts at that.

But I lost that Battle once, and sadly, there was no rain.

There was only endless pity drowning in their eyes

As they watched my self exile in silent tones.

The moment was Burned into my haunting memory forever.

But now, I am almost willing to lose this war,

As I take in the crumpled form beside me, swallowed up in rain.

His grief that out weighs any man before him, grasps at his last shred of composure,

And he grants only me the right to pity him.
