Swell

Swell

A Poem by SEBrunson
"

Isn’t birth wonderful?

"

Swell

Swelling

Tightened tissue

BURTS and splits and issues forth

a cascade of vile biological pollutants

wending

leaking

streaking

oozing

down upon polished steel,

pooling, noisome, ungual slime

relief

succor

deliverance from pain

the curtained cuts

bleeding slowly

releasing the infants

upon eight legs each

tickling

tickling

tickling down

all the way to the ground

leaving tiny footprints in red.

Fleeing, lying in wait

for their siblings yet to be born.

Delicious.
