Please and Thank You

Please and Thank You

A Poem by Sarah

I learned to talk by sounding

Out ooh’s and ahhh’s

It helped me grow from

Babbling to talking

I learned to walk by balancing

One foot in front of the other

It helped me learn to move

Around from one place to another

Speaking and moving made me happy

Such that, I almost took it for granted

But as I grow up, I’m learning manners, and how

To have it towards others like please and thank you

The voice I’ve learned to use

Is the same heard by others

Expressing emotions whenever

Proper when expected, it still leaves my mouth

The way I’ve learned to move around

Crossing paths with so many others

The tread on my sneakers

Is my footprint somewhere on the ground

Speaking and moving made me happy

Such that, I can’t take it for granted

Because my manners are my voice and steps

Respecting others is a must, please and thank you

Wonderfully beautiful sentiments … your words make my spirit soar, Sarah 🌸
The world needs more consideration and good manners toward one another … individuals, groups, societies, countries; we all need it.
Wise and skilled, you've spoken powerful words every individual should learn and heed.
Though, you're not rhyming here, your lines and verses have a flow, a musicality about them that produces a rhythm that comes close to my heartbeat.

"Speaking and moving made me happy
Such that, I can’t take it for granted
Because my manners are my voice and steps
Respecting others is a must, please and thank you"

Absolutely wonderful!
How can I help loving this excellent, stirring piece … thank you, Sarah! ⁓ Richard 🍃
