It's My Mistake to MakeA Poem by SarahSpoken with a drawl (male voice): Well, it seemed like a good idea at the
time….. Last night, I went out with my friends " It was a party to behold I drank too much, stayed out too late Came home and past out cold I overslept, and was late for work I’m paying for it now, Oh lordy, oh my head does ache But it was my mistake to make Chorus: You tell me what I’d tell myself, but that’s advice that I won’t take ‘cause I don’t take my own advice anyway Because it’s my mistake to make I thought I found my Mr. Right Handsome, funny and sweet He bought me flowers and took me out And swept me off my feet You said that he’s no good for me He’ll break my heart and make me cry Couldn’t see it till he cheated, and now my heart aches But it was my mistake to make Chorus: You tell me what I’d tell myself, but that’s advice that I won’t take ‘cause I don’t take my own advice anyway Because it’s my mistake to make Bridge: I know you love me, I know you care I know you want what you believe is best for me But it’s my life, it’s my choice I need to find out for myself what’s right for me If I don’t try it, how will I know? If I don’t make my own mistakes, how will I grow? I took a job I knew I’d hate Because the pay was great The hours were long and the work was dull But it was my mistake to make I failed a class ‘cause my paper was late But it was my mistake to make. I bought cheap shoes and now my feet ache But it was my mistake to make. The tube on the grass was really a snake But it was my mistake to make I might make that mistake again, But it was my mistake to make. You can say I told you so But it was my mistake to make Spoken (male voice):
