“Uggh, finally,” Yukito said as Lance, Mitch, Quince, and Scott walked up. “We’ve been waiting forever!”
“It is a pleasure to see you all, young masters,” Akito said with a bow. James got the feeling that Akito was mostly speaking to Lance with the way seemed to look right in his eyes.
“It’s good to see you, too,” Lance said with a pleasant smile.
“Well then, shall we leave?” Akito said taking Yukito’s duffle bag, as well as Lance’s. “I parked near the south exit. So, just right around that corner and through those far doors,” he continued speaking mostly to James who looked lost.
Turning towards where Akito had motioned, the guys all started towards the door. Upon exiting the airport, James looked around. Mostly what he saw was the parking lot, and buildings. For his first look at Japan, perhaps it wasn’t the best, but at least he couldn’t get worse.
“Ah, the car is over here. Shall I get it, or are you all fine to walk to it?” Akito asked with a slight bow.
“Go get the car. We’ll wait here,” Yukito said dismissively.
“As you wish,” Akito said bowing 90 degrees before leaving to fetch the car.
James continued to look around as Akito walked off. “Master’s house is about a two hour drive from here,” Scott said coming up beside James. “It’s a little far, but it is worth the drive.” Smiling, Scott took one of James’ hands in his.
“Yes, has Scott told you about Master’s house?” Lance said, moving to the other side of James.
“Yes. I’m excited to see the lake…and a traditional style Japanese house,” James said with a smile. “You are Lance, correct?”
“Correct,” Lance said as he smiled sweetly. “And, since I know you know about Scott, and probably Yukito, I can tell you my secret; I’m in charge of the winds. Mitch over there,” Lance continued as he gestured towards Mitch, “is in charge of the greenery – so plants and such – and Quince,” he gestured towards Quince, “is in charge of the sun. He is arguably the most powerful of us all, and undeniably the hungriest.”
“Hey!” Quince yelled as he stomped up to Lance. “You can only call me the hungriest if you have food to give me,” he said as he crossed his arms and pouted.
“I’m sorry then. There is a high probability that Quince enjoys partaking in sustenance in plentiful amounts. Is that better?”
“Yes. Although you should still give me a sandwich,” Quince said as he cocked an eye at Lance. Just then, a black luxury car pulled into view. Coming to a stop in front of the males, Akito stepped out of the front.
“If you do not mind,” he said as he opened the trunk, “please get in, and then we shall be off. Leave your luggage and I will put it in the back.” Smiling, Akito took James’ bag from him, as well as Scott’s rolling suitcase, and put them in the trunk. James looked at the car again before getting in. It was definitely a luxury car, although slightly larger than a normal one. The back was larger and could easily fit 5 or 6 people in a similar fashion as a limo – that is to say both sides facing each other. The seats, James noticed as he got to the door, were made out of black leather and looked brand new. Getting in first, James picked the far corner of the seats that were facing towards the trunk. Scott got in second, and sat next to him. Mitch, and Quince sat on the opposite side. Yukito peeked in and frowned.
“I wanna sit next to James!!” he said with a pout. Getting into the car, Yukito wedged himself between James and Scott. After a little protest, Scott finally moved over and let Yukito sit next to James. He made a mental note to keep Yukito further away from James in the future. He didn’t know what Yukito was planning, but he was sure it wasn’t good – it never was with him.
“So, James, want me to give you a tour as we go by?” Yukito said as he grabbed James’ hand.
Scott noticed this and was about to say something not very nice when Lance stuck his head through the door. “I’m going to sit in the front. Make sure you all buckle up,” he said with a smile before he closed the door. Getting in the front and buckling his seatbelt, Akito started the car and they started off.
“Oh!! That’s an office building,” Yukito said to James as he pointed to a tall, grey building outside the window. “And that’s another one!! Oh, and that is an office building with a restaurant on top!!”
“Basically, they are mostly office buildings. The shopping district is more north so you won’t see any from here. In about a half an hour we’ll be passing a tower; that is just about the only thing worth seeing. One office building is pretty much like the rest,” Scott said as he leaned forward to look at James.
“HEY!!!” Yukito yelled as he whipped his head around to glare at Scott. “I’M giving the tour, NOT you!”
“Well, I was just condensing it ‘cause if you were to point out every office building we pass then Akito would have to slow down and personally I want to get to Master’s house as soon as possible,” Scott replied as he glared at Yukito.
“Me too. I’m SO hungry,” Quince said with a frown.
“And I’m tired of sitting. I gotta move,” Mitch said as he uncomfortably rearranged how he was sitting.
James silently looked on as Yukito started to argue with everyone in the back. Feeling as if he were having a touch of vertigo, James laid his head on the window. As they argued more and more, James slowly slipped into sleep.
Exactly two hours and thirty-three minutes later, Akito pulled the car up to Master’s front door. The house was a grand thing. It was all one level, but spanned many feet. There were multiple rooms for sitting and gathering, let alone for living. Master’s room was near the center of the house, and was the largest by far. The front of the house had a small footpath made out of stones that led up to three steps. These steps led up to the wooden structure. The front door was a sliding door that led into a small room to take off one’s shoes. After that, the tatami lined halls led to many rooms. The area in front of the house was a well-groomed Japanese style garden. Getting out, he quickly opened the back door to let the passengers out.
In a huff, Yukito stepped out of the car. “They are all bakayaro,” Yuktio said to Akito. “Now, get my stuff and put it in my room,” he said as he turned to go into the house.
Slowly the others started to get out. By the time Quince, and Scott had emerged, Lance had taken out Yukito’s bag and put it inside the house. Coming back out, he saw that Mitch had gotten out of the opposite side. “What’s up?” he asked as he came to stand by Akito.
“James fell asleep and we didn’t want to wake him up. Mitch is going to carry him into the guest room,” Scott said as he grabbed his suitcase and James’ bag from the trunk. Nodding to Mitch, they both went into the house – Scott taking James’ shoes off before they entered.
“Well, Akito do you want to go put Yukito’s bag in his room, or shall I?” Lance said as he gently touched Akito’s arm.
“I’ll do it. Yukito-sama might get angry if anyone else does it. You know how he can be sometimes,” Akito said as he smiled back.
“I think I’m going to be sick,” Quince said as he stared at the two.
“Oh, be quiet, and get your bag,” Lance said as he turned towards the trunk.
Beating him to the trunk, Quince got out his duffle bag, and Lance’s suitcase. “Haha, if I carry this in you gotta make me some onigiri!!” Quince yelled as he ran into the house.
Sighing, Lance closed the trunk and smiled at Akito. “At least I don’t have to do any heavy lifting,” he said.
“True. But now you must cook. I don’t know how the cooks will take that!” Akito said as they both started towards the house. Once inside, Akito grabbed Yukito’s bag, and they both slipped into a pair of house slippers. “I’ll go take this to Yukito-sama’s room. Shall I see you in the kitchen?”
“Yes, see you there,” Lance said with a smile as they parted ways.
