Scott and James said nothing as they were walking down the street. It was a little cold and the wind was biting. James was shivering as he was walking. Scott looked over and saw James shivering.
“Here,” Scott said as he gave James his jacket.
“But…then you’ll be cold,” James said as the jacket was thrust upon him.
“I’ll be fine. Don’t worry. You just study hard for your finals tonight or else we’re both in trouble.” As Scott was saying this he gently touched James’ cheek. James blushed a little at this and took the jacket and put it on. When James had done this, Scott grabbed him and gently kissed him on the lips. When they parted, both blushed slightly and started to walk on.
“My classes are basically the same as last time. Japanese is my first class of the day…Will it be okay to call you if I have any questions?” James asked while looking slightly down at the sidewalk.
“You can call me whenever you want. My classes shouldn’t be too hard, so call me if you need help…in anything,” he added as he turned towards James.
“Thank you,” James said as he blushed even further.
“Oh, here’s the bus stop,” Scott said as he looked forward. He hadn’t realized that they had walked that far yet. “I’ll wait with you. Which bus is it?” he asked as he went to look at the schedule.
“It’s 23…”James said as he looked down the road to see if it was coming.
“23 should be here in about 5 minutes.”
“I didn’t even know my bus came out this way…” James said mostly to himself as he continued to look down the road.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t have thought it would have either…” Scott said as he turned all his attention towards James.
James looked forward, at Scott, and blushed. He looked back down towards his feet.
“What’s the matter?” asked Scott gently, as he bent a little closer to James.
“I...I just feel bad for all the things I’ve said. All those years of hating the rain…for what? Nothing…it was pointless…and now…now, I know that you’re in charge of it…I…I,” James stuttered as he looked up towards Scott’s face, but put his gaze just slightly past him.
“It’s no problem. As long as you don’t hate me now, it’s okay,” James said as he patted James on the cheek. James looked towards him, and started to tear up.
“But, if you hate me now, I may just have to eat you!” Scott said jokingly as he grabbed James face between his hands.
“Ahhh! You’re so mean!” James said.
Scott brought James’ face closer to his and kissed him again.
“Scott…” James said as he pulled away slightly. Scott had not noticed that the bus had come. Scott let go of James, blushing slightly. James turned around and boarded the bus. He took a window seat and waved good-bye to Scott.
“Call me…” Scott said uselessly as he waved bye to James as the bus was driving off. Scott stood there in the cold just watching as the bus went slowly out of sight. As he was about to turn and go back home, he noticed a snow flake falling down…just a single flake.
“A*s,” he said to himself as he turned around to go home. Behind him it started to snow a little harder. It was still not too heavy, but Scott looked very ticked off at what was falling. He walked home in a nasty mood.
Yukito was in the kitchen, cleaning the dishes. He was mumbling a song as he put the pan he just finished cleaning down on the drying rack. After doing this, he took his apron off still humming the song. He walked over to his ‘room,’ which was merely a corner of the living room. There he had built himself a little tent with pictures of actors, singers, and a great snowy mountain pasted to the wall. He bent down and grabbed a stuffed bunny doll. He turned and started to twirl with the doll as the snow began to fall outside.
“Omoshirokunarimasu ne, kato-chan <3” he said to the bunny. “hontou ni omorishirokunatta na…"
