Famous Men

Famous Men

A Poem by JC Pire

How come I never fell into the darkness of your eyes

There's city kids in lights

And I never meant to call you

The sage, sage, sage you'll probably gain in age

Then a perfect face

And taste that would split the ground in two

But sometimes I feel slightly disfigured

I'm just a pastiche of a last place winner

They said 'you're a joke', well, who's laughing now?

Where are all these famous men?

Who are they now and who were they then?

Who, honestly, who, gives a damn?

I'd like to find this on a piece of paper folded neatly on the ground, decorated with a bit of dirt.
