SONG: Like, Ann Lewis

SONG: Like, Ann Lewis

A Poem by JC Pire

Just come as you were, as beast or a bird,

You're the ugliest girl, that I've seen and heard.

But the first, so you could be beautiful,

You could be beautiful.

Be the prime of the crop, and the door to the shop,

Porn and lorn, well that's the life at the top.

You were court of the Midnight champ,

Court of the Midnight champ.

I live Atlas and sails, and root of the coach,

I get by on the coin at the cough and the croak.

So why pull me out the morass?

Why pull me out the morass.

You wear you heart on your sleeve, but I'll take it as leave

It's a heart nonetheless it's a heart that'd bleed

Though it bleeds dead man's drink

It bleeds a dead man's drink

Chamber for skit, and the standing for the sit

Now the pots and pans with the uniform kit

I came like the latest trend

I came like the latest trend

Pull out your splinter, now talk Harold Pinter

explain to me now why you left in the winter

You even took the salt and cobwebs

You took the salt and webs

Two pages ahead, but the part where you're dead

That isn't a halo spinning round your head

You came back just to leave me again

Came back to leave me again
