New friendsA Poem by 914 Opening my bedroom window on this early April morning the cool crisp air brings in a morning chill as it begins to fill the room.
Ready to close and bring some warmth back into me a finch colored in brown and grey feathers lands on my window sill and peers in to have a look at me. Not scared or in a hurry to fly away he just chirps and looks as though he's studying me I slowly glance just to the right of my little feathered friend, and look down by the tree where the bird feeder stand should be. Remembering it hasn't been filled for quite sometime So without haste I turn and scramble to my dresser drawer to retrieve some sun flower seeds I just had the night before. In my hand I have his treat but so much noise and calamity came from the windows seat, with only one I plan to feed but two more arrived while I was getting my feathered friends treat. Now feeding them with just a handful of seeds they chirped and scattered the shells down by my feet. Now with full stomachs and resting on my window sill and in a moments notice my new feathered friends were off from their morning treat... © 2016 914 |
