Occupy

Occupy

A Chapter by Following Ferns

I have a husk
Like a shell
I am organic
From the Earth

I have two of myself
A friend for my mind
We live inside this same body
She and I

She is more like the boxing
I am am the filling
We’re packaged together
To feel the same feelings

Most days, I can surface
And occupy the same shell
It’s the real me, I swear
I am whole once again

I can pull back in an instant
Retreat back to where I’m from
Let the outerspace cover my face
Just steps behind the fence

My hands are hollow
But my head is so full
It’s heavier than the rest of me
Thats why it hangs low
