Lake Dream, Day Dream

Lake Dream, Day Dream

A Chapter by Following Ferns

I won’t pretend that
I don’t have feelings.
I’m full of them. I am a thing that is full of the past.
Filed with odd words that won’t come out of my head.
Stored in tight spaces, boxed onto shelves. Kept here with all the others, but I’m turned around in my chair.

I’m gone im my mind, into a watery place. All is green and dark, and calm.
what is the air to us - what is water to me now.
It is not quite here, not as it was in space.
Silver bubbles roll past my ears and around my chin.
They send me a silver giggle as they leave.

It gets darker as you go down.
You feel heavier as you fall by, but soon you will land.
On a crisp tile floor, ivory and emerald green,
laid in some underwater cave
The underwater castle built just for this day
And You’ll dance on your toes, as you did up above,
In an olive green dress, twisted curls in your hair.
