The Storm Thickens

The Storm Thickens

A Poem by C.N.Moore

It's been weeks since last we spoke,

I remember it well.. in a sweat I awoke.

I was afraid you had left me alone with my thoughts,

a loaded gun ready, yet.. firing blank shots.

Many times I've placed these fingers to type,

to relay these thoughts and relieve this hype.

Yet nothing comes.. no words fill the page,

like an orchestra awaiting it's well deserved stage.

The words are there just one need break through,

when one flows free the others will too,

it's just encouraging that one to find strength,

assuring it's kin will follow at length.

So many words a cluster in my mind,

never truly allowing me to unwind,

a storm of image and emotion alike,

the thunder cracks and the lightning does strike.

The storm grows closer my joints they do tell,

that little small voice in the distance does yell,

these words will soon escape their jail,

and many adventures they surely will tell.

A well structured writers block poem. The third line was very moving. Thankyou.

S.C you have already begun. It has been weeks since I''ve heard from you, where are you? I wish I read this sooner. It is beautiful. I have learned the more you read, the more easily the words flow out of you. Like a wave. Miss you!
