MinderA Story by Spencer BarkerThe creature lay in the garden, quite peacefully, really. I would have watched if my pant legs weren't shredded, excreting blood through seams all too visible. The doorknob gave a big clang as I drove my other side into it in hopes of venturing into the next room. In front of me lay a large lamp, knocked down, but still lit. "Oh, god!!!", I screamed. I felt the blood vessels squeeze and squeal, all too real, throughout my body. The bones I once thought to be so secure, now wriggled free for a second. Then my mind. My body, in the bad shape it already was, paused. Thoughts of dashing young women danced through, their half naked bodies enlarged in my minds eye, but then just as soon as they came, the very life of them no more. The creature was inside and I doubt it was coming out.
