Peering Glass

Peering Glass

A Poem by Spencer Barker

A shining of blue,

a belief yet true.

The looking glass stands,

undisturbed by its time.

Its blanket of dust separated,

the shine of nights day comes.

Crystallizing, visualizing,

it has come true.

He came in through the doorway,

a perfect awareness sought by the leavings of dusk.

A slow pacing of step,

the laying of a child's slept.

A light shone,

its hue cold, but how it is the one!

A peering of thought,

it is the one he sought,

a morphed face stands its ground waiting the time to be caught.

Then comes a new face,

the one he loves,

the one he cherishes.

And it is now that he can see the beauty within the looking glass.
