Candlelit Darkness

Candlelit Darkness

A Poem by Ashley Benard
"

As the darkness wraps around my twisted soul, the eager search for light becomes distant.

"
That a lonely fellow,
Will wake with a fright,
Crouching down in a corner of darkness,
The beast growls of hungry delight,
No one to call,
Just the beast in sight,
He reaches for his blade,
And finds a small search of light,
He crawls to the arousing relief,
To find that it was no fright,
But just a small leaf,
In the death of the night.
