A Poem by Alicante lullaby

soul is a sure for ugly girls

and how i used to pacify myself with

''they pretend not to desire you becoz you are expensive,

as in out of reach''

atleast this what mum told me

(they always do to the brownest girls in my family)

and i learnt to confuse unattractive with ''middle class morality''

your voice is just so distinguished and perfected - no matter what hte subject or piece - anyone who knows your work will no immediately who it is - it has a melancholic filter which just draws me in every time -

lol...we are becoming quite the rebel aren't we. :) But ugly or no, morality is important. Anyway, you can be rather enigmatic sometimes. Most guys like predictable, stupid, pretty girls.lol.

A lot of good questions could be discussed in the poem. Beauty and ugliness is a wide open discussion. Real beauty is what we say and do. ''middle class morality'' is a open door also. I have known people who brought people to them for their energy and joy for life. Ugly is a hard word. All things and people have beauty. A wise person can see the beauty in a face and feel the kind heart is a gesture of a smile. Your mother's words are true in a sense. Shouldn't lower your standard in life or dream. Thank you for a excellent poem. Made me think.
