A Poem by Alicante lullaby
"

"

My hair used to hang tight in a

ponytail back when we first met,

i turned all innocent flirting

just because you seemed so impervious.

Now, I dont tie my hair,

they flutter madly with the slightest provocation by wind

and men can't help but fawn.

i know a dozen synonyms of melancholy

and i'm not innocent.

And me and my hair need highlights to seek attention.

You should have loved me

back when i was innocent,

when i used to flirt with you

when i wore my hair in a ponytail.

I wouldn't say childish at all; it reminds a great deal of Pound's "The River Merchant's Wife', which is a pretty good thing to put in mind of.

. yes, indeed ...

it's not to late though
to stop
the on going loss of
innocence
and preserve the beautiful
view
of you
without the make up
the hair do
let your lips need no colour
let your radiance speak
more than your compact
let the world know
that it couldn't take from you
what's yours forever
and then
let love know too
so it can find you
