i have done it,doctor

i have done it,doctor

A Poem by Alicante lullaby
"

"

Doctor,i have done it,

i have diagnosed the illness

even though i'm not you yet,

i have drawn it out, that huge earthworm

that lives in our minds.

The women in my family

go mad one after one

because we think,we think,we think.

Oh i remember ma and

the sad colour of her pills

and your red bald head,i fancy it tasted sweet

 (you gave me popsicles ,remember).

i remember auntie who thought

i was like her and you passed by her room,

crawling slowly like day and night

heavy footed like the seagulls,

big foot you were my uncle big foot,

yes you were,i remember,

i remember way too much

and i remember my sister silver eyed,

she thought too,

she thought aweful lot.

i remember the purple circles on K.T's arms

who was the last one

and how they always made me cry and snivel,

i think,

they made me wonder who will remember me.

A wonderful little cameo, exposing the worm of too much thinking... Hamlet knew all about it and it was tragic enough for him... 'thus contemplation does make cowards of us all', he said... or drives us mad... 'big foot', 'silver eyed', 'purple circles' - striking, brilliant

this is really a visceral write, love your way with words.

"Oh i remember ma and
the sad colour of her pills" - really loved these lines.

.
. thinking triggers thought ... thought triggers freedom of expression and keenness to share and seek feedback ... and ultimately freedom ... yes, some of us think much too much ... but it's okay ... in our nations where we are so oppressed because of social mechanisms ... at least we can think freely ... even if to realize that most of it is not really productive ... :P ... or, to realize that sometimes thinking leads to liberating poetry ... such as in the poem right here ... and yes, if i have my way ... india and pakistan will remember you ... :) ...
