Daddy

Daddy

A Poem by SAGE

It doesn’t seem to get easier, just different. As time passes I’m getting better at creating distractions.  I busy myself, so as not to notice.  Although I’m quite good at it, the quiet moments cannot be avoided.  It’s in those quiet moments, where, like a magnet, I’m drawn to reality.  I find myself flooded by memories of his laugh.  The feeling of comfort and reassurance that I always found in his smile, make me smile.  Instantly I’m softened.  Like a warm blanket I am wrapped tight in the emotion, bathed by the love.  There, in the silence, I succumb to my broken heart and cry.
