Crime and Judgment

Crime and Judgment

A Poem by S.G.P.

It was mesmerizing. I stood there looking at the lifeless bodies.
Ligaments torn apart, scattered across the floor, but no blood insight.
I was fascinated, but who could have done such a thing?
Not that they would be missed.
No one will cry over their shelled, hollow bodies.
No one will look for them or morn their death.

The culprit I see through the corner of my eye.
I turn to watch his swift movements. No remorse will be seen.
His stiff brittle motions as he visits his hunting grounds looking for more.
But what do I do? He has done nothing wrong, has he?
Do you persecute someone for a death on one will notice or care?

Should I take his life for the ones he has stolen?

No.

It is nature and you can not punish a creature for his instincts.
So the Spider shall live and the Roaches forgotten.

Built up some sick images and made me think about things I usually try to avoid, and then came the last line. This is very well done
