A Test of Love

A Test of Love

A Poem by S.G.P.

Blood dripping.
Heavy breathing.
I stand there looking at my kill.
Adrenaline burns through my veins,
And ecstasy takes over.
The sweet scent of copper and sweat fill the air.
Making my mind heavy and contorted.
Eyes glaze over and lids half close.
I lick the blood from my lips,
And turn to you.
Fear, present in your eyes as I lick the blood from my hands.
Shame fills my soul but this is me.
I walk toward you in all my glory.
Staring into each others soul.
The scent of fear and worry present,
More toxic than blood.
A whimper escapes the lips of my love,
And I take back the hand that craves to caress his face.
Bloody tears stream down my face.
My mate was not ready to see the monster inside.
His fallen angel erased from his mind
Sweet memories played like a repetitive motion picture.
Every emotion played across his face for my agony to feed on.
I kneel in front of him, head down, and whimper my sorrow.
I fear I have lost my mate but he is already marked as mine.
A low agonizing howl escapes my lips
Arms wrap around me and I stare into understanding eyes.
Hungry bloody kisses soon follow after
And my soul is once complete.
