Through the Eyes of a Marching BandA Poem by Sabrina LouiseCould we have reached where you want us to be?* * * Bright shadowed eyes, keen as the darkest night Those the world may never be graced to know It pains me that it could never be right But today is the day we all must go. I’m sad this dance lies less than succeeding I hope one day you’ll come to understand Although forever I’ll be believing I must leave you to the beckoning land. This now ever the most difficult part Never such peace anytime, anywhere It is not yet sweet as a frosted tart There remains nothing left of me to care. But it is not the choice of only me Could we have reached where you want us to be? © 2011 Sabrina LouiseAuthor's Note
