Scatomaphobia

Scatomaphobia

A Poem by Ryosei Takashi Hime
"

A poem based on a dream I had about Toph from Avatar. The dream was probably due to my chronic fear of going blind. Also known as Scatomaphobia. I think I spelled that right.

"

In the darkened library her eyes can see

Through letters written in blood and ink

With a mere touch the meaning she does decree

She doesn't realize she is on danger's brink

The blind bandit robbing wisdom from pages thick

Can not see that which looms on the horizon bleak

Though it comes ever closer to her duty she does stick

It's intentons, to steal her abilities so unique

I call to her a warning that she does not heed

Her fingers carress the letters with affectionate care

Though with the small girl I earnestly plead

She sticks to her duty with tenacity so rare

In the end I can do naught but forsake the lass

And leave her to the mercy of the unknown

But in the end the darkness shall pass

And I will have to reap what I have sown

That was really cool. I happen to like that character from Avatar. I didn't know that there was such a phobia of blindness, so I learned something new today. Again, great job!
