Garden Gate

Garden Gate

A Poem by Ryosei Takashi Hime
"

I woke in the middle of the night a few years ago and wrote this down in my dream journal. I didn't even remember having written it the next day.

"

To the east follow me

To a growing elmwood tree

In the branches lie in wait

Until they crack the garden gate

When they're gone creep inside

Until the wild wind will abide

Rest a while by the stair

A lulling sleep will keep you there

Time will creep beyond your dream

Until your worth they do deem

When you wake, leaves in hair

You'll find the garden gate in disrepair

Jump the fence and cross the land

Until it meets the sea, hand in hand

Greet the tide and greet the gull

There you'll find what they stole

This is lovely, but all I'll say is maybe try not rhyming so much. I do think it works for this, but I've found it can restrict the words you can use, and this could be potentially wonderful (it already is, but even moreso) without the rhymes and therefore more freedom to use other words. I do like it though :D
