Final Farewell

Final Farewell

A Poem by Kyle Francisco
"

a final farewell to old ways...

"

Everything I am
everything I was
matters not
I fall at altar of naught
pretend with what ought
memory of the cosmos
scatterd across time
as if I were there myself
pressing forward
return to melancholy town
where vampires cease to exist
by rote response
a part of me realizes there is no chance
forced again to be a puppet
circumstances of fate
by strings attached all I do is dance
naive vigil
hoping for a return
until hates consumes
fear accompanies on this journey
dreams drenched with tears
reality tainted with regret
awe inspiring abyss
lying in painful wonder
everything means nothing
not meant to be whole
for nothing is broken
a truth for me
is not anothers
rejecting oblivion
a secret so dear
fades with promises of yesterday
unforgettable
words become me
shrouded in mystery
a never ending story now ends
with the last of my breaths
I send these thoughts to death
one last kiss
and off into the distance
my final farewell

in order to grasp the imagery, read, and backed up a time or two:) it was worth the reread!

wow. I love these lines, such an image of reality, well for me at least. And the ending especially is so capturing.

with the last of my breaths
I send these thoughts to death
one last kiss
and off into the distance
my final farewell

wow, i love it.
