Despiration

Despiration

A Poem by Rylie

I am pathetic, and alone
I feel like a pup, trying to find a home.
I cling to those who give me a kind word
And run from those who have heard,
About my past and my in glories
I tell you there are quite a few stories.
Of how I loved, and how I lost
And how I couldn't pay the cost,
Of those who I called friend
And how we met the bitter end.
We were like leaves clinging to an Autumn tree
The wind picked off everyone but me.
Then the rains came and washed me away
But I still live in the past to this very day,
Dreaming of what could have been,
Not thinking of what could be.

Choosing to remain in the past, is just that a choice. Nothing holds one back from stepping forward and away from what they feel they would rather be rid of. While one may be fearful of an unknown step, or future's uncertainty, they need only remind themselves that the past is far worse than anything the unknown might through at them, as the past has granted them the wisdom to overcome.

Good Ink!
