My Forever Gay Fling

My Forever Gay Fling

A Poem by Thomas Ryan

In the summer of my youth,

I met a man who spoke the truth.

He was kind and he was gay,

And he stole my heart away.

We danced beneath the stars at night,

Our love was pure and our love was bright.

We held each other close and tight,

And we knew that everything was right.

But as the seasons came and went,

Our love began to feel less spent.

We drifted apart, but never forgot,

The love we shared, the love we wrought.

Now I'm older, but I still see,

The man who meant so much to me.

He'll always be my forever gay fling,

And I'll always cherish everything.
