I want a man to love

I want a man to love

A Poem by Thomas Ryan

I want a man to love, to hold,

A heart so warm, a soul so bold.

In twilight's hush, in dawn's soft light,

To share the dreams that fill the night.

I want a man to walk besides,

Through life's swift tides and gentle stride.

A partner true, in joy and tears,

To face with me the coming years.

I want a man whose laughter rings,

Like summer's song, like springtime's wings.

Whose gentle touch can heal and mend,

A lover, partner, dearest friend.

I want a man with strength and grace,

A caring heart, an honest face.

In storm and calm, through thick and thin,

To stand with me, our love within.

I want a man to build a life,

To share the peace, to share the strife.

With open hearts, with hands entwined,

Together through all space and time.

So here I stand, my wish so clear,

To find a love that's pure and dear.

I want a man, my heart's own dove,

I want a man, a man to love.
