![]() Toughened by StrifeA Poem by Thomas RyanMany have spoken harshly, ready to strike. In the face of insults, character under siege, But unveil true friends, their worth shines bright. Through physical and mental strife. A soul bears a limit, Now I bid adieu to life. Witnessed bruises, felt the mental toll, Childhood's path strewn with hurtful names. Lonely adult echoes, a desperate toll, Could this despair lead to eternal flames? What churned within his mind, a mystery unsolved. Why the silence, the masked pain? A gentleman with a grin, so beloved, But inside, turmoil drove him insane. Did I contribute to his demise? Did my actions slice his faith's thread? I yearn for answers, futile tries, If only he could speak from the dead. From first to third, he slipped away, Solitude his constant companion. Words penned in solitary dismay, Yearning for a sympathetic union. One day, his heart may unfurl, For within lies untold treasure. Releasing the past, a challenging swirl, Yet his potential, a boundless measure. Ignore the cruel, the venomous sneers, Judge him by deeds, past, present, and yet to come. Not all dark, amidst the tears, In this life, love could have been won. Don't cast him aside, don't judge in haste, He seeks companionship, a simple connection. Open your heart, in goodness embrace, In this life, he could have found affection. Remember, through every struggle, he was there, Sharing joy and sorrow in equal measure. Unmarked page, a tale to declare, In numbers, his legacy, a hidden treasure. © 2024 Thomas Ryan |
