The Half Crown

The Half Crown

A Poem by Thomas Ryan

The Half Crown, a coin of old,

With stories to tell and tales untold.

A coin of half, where things are rare,

And people are kind, with hearts to share.

The Half Crown, where the sun shines bright,

And the stars twinkle in the night.

Where the river flows and the birds sing,

And the bells of the church sweetly ring.

The Half Crown, where the streets are clean,

And the houses are painted in shades of green.

Where the children play and the dogs run free,

And the people live in harmony.

The Half Crown, a coin of peace,

Where troubles and worries seem to cease.

A coin of half, where love abounds,

And happiness can always be found.
