A Christmas Wish to Meet MumA Poem by Thomas RyanIn the quiet of
the Christmas night's embrace, A wish unfurls,
adorned with tender grace. To meet once
more, where memories reside, With twinkling
stars and love that won't subside. Oh, mum, your
absence in this festive cheer, Echoes longing,
whispers so sincere. The ornaments
gleam, the hearth aglow, But yearning for
your presence seems to grow. Through frosted
panes, where snowflakes dance, I dream of
moments, in a fleeting glance. Your laughter,
gentle as the falling snow, Your warmth, a
hearth where love would flow. In every
twinkling light upon the tree, I find a spark
of your sweet company. The Christmas
wish, a heartfelt plea, To share this
joy, just you and me. Though distance
holds us worlds apart, Your love
enwraps, it fills my heart. In every carol,
in every rhyme, Your spirit
dances through this time. So, here I sit,
by candle's glow, Sending love to
where your spirit knows. A wish that
soars on Christmas air, To meet again,
somehow, somewhere. Until that day,
when stars align, I'll hold your
memory, a treasure mine. For in this
wish, in every prayer, I feel your
love, forever there. © 2024 Thomas Ryan |
