Disapproval.

Disapproval.

A Story by .

He sat on his bed head in hands. His mind full of pain, split over what he should do. He had to tell them as soon as possible, he couldn't keep it hidden any longer.

His father's reaction is what scared him the most, the idea of being called an abomination by his father was more  terrifing than he had ever imagined until now. He thought his mother would try to imagine, oh lord knows she'd try but in the end he knew she couldn't. He knew once the found out he couldn't stay, in a way he was glad, he couldn't handle it. Everytime he spoke to them it felt as though he was being stabbed by a thousand swords of guilt.

He rose to his feet, body shaking. Mind unable to comprehend the thought of being completely disowned by his entire family, the only people he loved. He started to walk in the direction of the kitchen, mind completely seperated from his body. Thinking only of what he was finally about to do, thinking only of the idea of being free. Of being himself.

He called them into the kitchen, eyes already welling with tears, hands unable to stop shaking and sweating.  He felt as though there was no-body in the whole universe who could relate to how he was feeling now.

He was alone.

He couldn't hold it in, he couldn't make this any easier. The words left his mouth without him even telling them to.  The words " i'm gay" hit his father with more pain than you could imagine a brick being thrown at your face causing.

His father replyed with a single teardrop running down his face with two words that could cut up any son in the world.

"Get out...."

Heartbreaking................It takes courage to tell someone whom you love something about yourself that you know they will not understand. We need to be who we are and embrace all that we are. Only when we are free can we achieve our true dreams and find real happiness, it's just sad that some people will never be part of that happiness, but that is the choice they have made. Thank you for sharing this write.....:)

This is so sad. It's heartbreaking to know that there are people who can't be accepting in the world.
As Luna said, this was brilliant. I felt the character's pain.

What makes this story sad is that it happens to so many people. It is so upsetting that some parents do not accept their children for who they are.
This story is extremely well written, and it was brilliant to say the least.
Great job.

So sad...makes me want to hug the dude and give him a cookie, go figure?
Sad but brilliant, some people are so narrow minded I think if I ever had a gay child I'd love him/her all the more.
