Forethought From Ahead

Forethought From Ahead

A Poem by Ryan Miller

The air is tight with suspense unknown.

Distant thunder foretells a violent storm.

Beyond the horizon, just out of sight.

Hear it coming, in the night.

Seeking shelter is a usless task,

there's no escaping a violent past.

The hazel guise of an ancient wonder,

guidless alone in a sea asunder.

Hindsight is cloudy,

foresight is blind.

Grasp in the dark for a ledge of light.

Stumble along and find a way,

out of darkness and into grey.
