The Willow Tree

The Willow Tree

A Poem by R. W. Adams
"

Childhood underneath a willow tree.

"
Far underneath the willow tree
The sacred nature waits for me
I peer in through the opening
I climb the trunk to be the king

I sit up there and watch the sky
My childhood dreams go flying by
I grasp the branch afraid to fall
For at this height I feel so tall

I sit alone with my deep thoughts
Provoking answers which I sought
My mind it rests I'm now at ease
Far underneath the willow tree

The lines and their rhythmic cadence lend to the poem an ease and fluidity that expresses an amiable musicality. And the willow tree, that is just a majestic image worth the poem and a photograph. Pleasurable read, thanks for sharing.
