The Nonconformist

The Nonconformist

A Poem by R. W. Adams
"

The way I wish to live.

"
To live a life where one only accepts
Is not the life that I do wish to live
I want to question all of the concepts
And understand the presence that I give

I want to think and process my own thoughts
Not the beliefs shared by one another
No waging wars over answers that we sought
From questions brought up by a man, or brother

This life I live I truly will embrace
Questioning all of my life's decisions
I need not one's guiding of my pace
No advice from the church or it's religion

I'll live my life for who I want to be
I'll treasure all my memories compiling
And when I come upon that fateful day
I'll look upon my life as I am smiling

A creed! A philosophy of life! A wake-up call the those merely existing and not living. Something many of us desire to espouse but life got in the way and we remain shackled as once, back in the day. Thank you for sharing. :-)

Great poem and message brother ! Nothing is as rewarding as a life built with your own two hands. Never stop questioning, or creating !
