Moonlight Memories

Moonlight Memories

A Poem by Ruzica

The air is so thin tonight
stretched across
the pointy stars
and full of
hidden fireflies

What would you say
if you saw me now
standing here
where moonlight gleams
amidst the heaps
of broken dreams

With my soul
a restless bird
and my skin
so lily white

Would you hug me
with your smiles
and your music
and your lies

Or would you hide
your feather gaze
while the river
gently sways

And would you tell me
to forget
how we danced
and how we met?

The air is so thin tonight
etched against
a windy view

and I know
that I will
forever haunt
the ghost of you
