AlmostA Poem by RuzicaYou smiled with your eyes closed
and with your hands in the pockets of your gray jacket And I wanted to kiss you Almost You stood there in your too big shoes and your pressed shirt and your face was so sunny that day And I kissed you right then and there Almost And then you turned away and you took all of your easy smiles and deep voiced whispers And my voice trembled Almost And like a boy playing marbles in the dirt with your eyes shining (so bright) and your feet stomping and your hands flying you took from me my most prized possession my most cherished treasure you took your warmth and gave it to someone else someone that wasn't me And I forgave you Almost © 2014 Ruzica |
