A Queen

A Queen

A Poem by Ruth Martz

A mistress of the deep
taking time to breathe
amongst the seaweed
and the friends
that she will keep

A Queen with levity
to live beneath the sea
a place where she
was born a well kept secret

The calmness and the peace
that she brings into the deep
shall never be replete
for this throne herself
was born..
