Faces of the Sea

Faces of the Sea

A Poem by HappyOddGirl
"

I love the ocean! I love how it's always doing something different. This poem attempts to capture that diversity. :)

"

Faces of the Sea

Wildly rugged, smooth as satin,

Mighty Ocean fills my sight;

Deeply, darkly, dully rolling,

Glinting, flashing, lightning-bright.

Slow, majestic, massive sighing,

Rapid, rushing, racing ride;

Violently storming, crashing;

Soft, caressing, stinging tide.

Vibrant, playful, friendly menace;

Loyally fickle sailor’s wife;

Vastly solitary, lonely;

Thronging, teeming, filled with life.

Who can calm the Sea’s proud ranting?

Who can still her thundering?

Laughing, roaring, raging, singing "

Mighty Ocean knows her King.

Again, the unorthodox use of capital letters is deliberate poetic license. :)
