Love's venomA Poem by Alexander GorokhovI had night without sleep and fall asleep at day, by the time I woke up it was around 7 or 8pm. This thing was on my mind, so I simply wrote it downThe deadly creature bit my heart, the viper, venom of your love. It twisted all around me and drove it's fangs so deep inside, that poison has replaced my blood. The warm flow rushing in my veins, heartbeat going fast enough to break my chest, my vision went into a rainbow blur and there was the prettiest face I ever saw. And it was yours, of that I'm sure. I never was the one who asked for love, I always thought I wasn't capable enough, but now I know, we all just need that viper's bite, because this feeling is a disease, It is destroying the voice of reason. But it's too late for me to talk, This parasite on my heart is vital. I've opened up my heart and you have opened yours, we fell in love, but nothing lasts forever and one day I have lost the only one I have cared for. The fangs are gone and Eva left Adam. You found your way on Earth and I am lost in Eden, that has now become my prison. Without you this garden made by God is a simple torture chamber. Am I the only one who sees the sky being heavy led? Can anybody see that flowers dead and fruits rot? And even sweetest wine now tastes as ashes. I want to follow you, but you won't let me. I found forbidden exit, but it's closed. I seek relief, but I have found none. New day, new dawn, new me, new you. But one thing always stays the same. The name I'm waking up with. © 2012 Alexander GorokhovAuthor's Note
