Was I ever enough?

Was I ever enough?

A Poem by Russian Honey

Here I am, thinking of you

It’s 2:25pm, what else is there to do?

Yes I am in the office. The company that gave me my first contract, the contract we both held and jumped up and down with excitement.

I miss you.

I was too close, I just thought we were one

You needed space, I needed you

You gave me the world, but you didn’t know my only world was you.

We became three, but because I loved you, I settled for two

And because you never loved me, you became one.

My heart cries three times a day.

In the morning, when I’m awoken to the reality of you not in my life.

During the day, when everything I do or go, we’ve done and went.

In the night, when all I want to do is talk to you before I dream of you.

I miss you.

How is it possible that you can wake up one day and decide to be so cold?

Was it ever love? Was I ever enough?

Thank you. You broke my heart.
