love your neighborA Poem by RuseInexthe heat slams into my face from the video screen my mind leaps in vicarious agony my ears split in piercing, blood curdling torrents of sounds over and over again . . . so easy to see and not feel easy, so easy to not feel, what really happened so easy to judge it's not about judging only compassion no condemnation for the suffering so busy, so pre occupied, . . . take a bit just a little bit to ponder so easy to not care, it’s an image it’s a news bite unless we’re there, actually feeling it, so easy to neglect step away with me for a bit leave your own woes, your duties, for just a bit the reeling feeling from the horrific scene in mexico, being burned while alive the acrid stench of flesh petro chemical mixed flame and smoke no time to waste looking for blame, people died while hurting, traumatized beyond belief the heat slams into my face from the video screen my mind leaps in vicarious agony my ears split in piercing, blood curdling torrents of sounds over and over again only mercy left let compassion flow, words and thoughts of love for these for all afflicted the screaming burning people, oh, join me in real prayer, . . . though decentralized from a building called a church, all our voices reaching across vast space to heaven to all parts of our world via the marvel of cyberspace join me in prayer to the throne of God himself in the name of Jesus who loves humanity who’s aware of the tragedies that befall man who reaches out in love for the paramedics, for the fire men for the spectators and good samaritans, like you and me as occasions arise let us feel, in the spirit and take it to God who works in real love to aid and comfort to help relieve pain emotional, psychological, physical the raw burning nerve endings intense afire, the aftermath the memories the nightmares that God may carry these victims and those like the fires in paradise, ca, australia greece, present and in the past the horror of fire on human flesh so easy to see and not feel easy, so easy to not feel, what really happened, really it's way too big for you and me, may there always be people like you and me, in mind and spirit to reach and pray, for healing love, to quench flames © 2019 RuseInex |
