who shall i thank?

who shall i thank?

A Poem by RuseInex

if i can’t thank you
then who can i thank?

should i thank you
or the scoffers who mock you
who shun your existence
for strengthening my belief
for love for you
in arguing at your justice
in hate of your rules and laws
disdain for your beauty
strengthens my belief and love for you
in committing crimes against your justice
in whose shame care not to even hide

if i can’t thank you
then who should i thank
for the splendid in my life?

for my welling surge
of thankfulness
when on occasion
when i in mercy
when i in grace
should feel your love?

when out of nothing
unexpectedly i feel
your invisible love
made visible
by that something
that springs out of me

who shall i thank
out of the midst
from the midst
of a world in confusion?

a world of instability
a kingdom of death
a planet run
beneath the scenes
by madmen and devils

whom will i thank
when there seems
nothing left
to find thanks for?

when my heart fills
to burst with music
that sometimes
though rare fills my heart
like a gift from outside
this weary world?

who will i thank?
for the words of truth
undefined
the truth unrecognized
by mere majority of man
the truth that requires no definition,
but by that instilled
by immortal spirit
granted from above
to fill the deepest
depths of my being
and that of those
to whom you speak?

i will thank you
for the truth
for the comfort
of the words you speak
in writing
in my quiet lonely heart
words from your throne room
that tell of the coming peace
that tell of meaning
of meaning
to my tired frustrated life
and comfort brings

words
that promise an end
to the nonsense
of what is futile,
emptiness
thoughtlessness
unappreciativeness
unthankfulness
selfishlessness
rebelliousness
the list is long

time is short
like a candle we burn
soon the light is extinguished
we are gone

all those with their gifts,
love and sharing
compassion and helps
they’re gone and getting rare
unremembered really,
replaced by countless others
then too forgotten

endless cycles of repetition
waiting for the final end
the ushering in of a new reality

so who do i thank?
i thank you almighty,
Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ,
Son of God
everlasting Savior
