SouthA Poem by RuseInex
i want to go south toward the sun
on a chalk white, dirt road i want to go south, forever trek never stop, though i can go no more carry me road, make me disappear into you, stretching far and endlessly i want to walk you 'til i can't anymore i've seen you under the noon day sun stirring my heart, my dreams full of mystery i've wanted to follow you now and then, since i was a kid heading east i've wanted to follow you now and then, searching for you finding you, staring far away into you leading south, like a living thing, moving forever away, to the line of your horizon's rim, making me always wonder what's beyond to the line of your horizon's rim, you've always been there, always will be, always on my mind, i've walked on you a little ways, once or twice, long ago but i've always been pulled back to the starting line, by those i can't leave behind i haven't walked on you in a long, long while i'm pulled back by the ones that can't walk on you i can't walk too far i'm pulled back by the ones i can't leave behind i get busy, so busy i can't travel i can't move all the more to stare down your length that leads forever south, to see what's there stretching onto your forever end past infinity, full of mystery shrouded in your scented wonders along your waysides, your slopes and winding turns the sacred sounds, to meet around each dip and rise and bend of your path, moving me at a human pace, carried by your chalk white length, to meet with my head held high, the expanse of a southern dome, of a turqouise sky above you and i i want to go south, a never ending path, that leads, full of life © 2017 RuseInex |
